March 17th at the Overseas Passenger Terminal saw the culmination of 6 months of exhausting fundraising and frenetic choreography sessions for 10 brave teams of interior designers. All in the name of an important cause – Mental Health – the teams raised much needed awareness and a huge $152,000 for ReachOut.com, Australia’s leading online mental health organisation for young people and their parents.
Hosted by the delightful John & Yoko, AKA Amber Road, our ten teams took to the stage in front of over 700 members of the Architecture and Design industry. Inspired by their favourite music icons, we bowed down to Queen, sang to Sia, crumped to Missy Elliot and Vogued to Madonna.
At the end of the day, WMK Architecture with their interpretation of SIA were the winner of both the dance competition as well as the most funds raised while The Bold Collective took out the award for best team costumes. An honourable mention goes to Siren who were at the top of the fundraising ladder at the end of the weekend.
A big thank to all the sponsors both financial and In Kind. We could not have put this event on without their generous support. Thanks also to Maria from Thinking Works and Megan from Business Interiors for their dedication in organising Dance for Life.
Business Interiors is very proud to be one of the organisers for Dance for Life 2017.
