Designed by Daniel Figueroa, the X-Code family is the perfect balance of craftsmanship and ergonomic engineering. Internationally renowned Figueroa collaborated with Dauphin to design and develop the X-Code family in 2012. With a wealth of design experience Daniel and Dauphin’s ergonomic experts to create and produce a high quality task chair that moulds to the users movements like a second skin.
With a degree from the University of Art and Design in Halle, Burg Giebichenstein, Daniel’s knowledge and experience pushed the level of ideas on the design table. He has worked with some of the largest furniture brands in the world, awarding him with prestigious awards including the esteemed Red Dot Design Award. Beyond industrial design, Figueroa has also collaborated on design concepts for successful fairs including Orgatec and the Stockholm Furniture Fair.
When we caught up with Figueroa on a recent trip to Australia his passion and love product design was inherently a part of him. Chatting about design and development, Figueroa was sketching away ideas over coffee, dinner and meetings. Ideas which seemed to so natural and organic came to his mind as he considered the Australian market and its people. Figueroa has an innate ability to read and sense what is happening in any environment or space, which has probably lead to so much of his success. His impact on the Europe design scene is proven through this experience and accolades, however his passion on how he talks and influences the European design scene is inspirational.
What is particularly striking about these chairs is the way in which their functions determine their overall styling. For example, the horizontal gaps in the backrest shell not only provide support and allow ventilation but are also one of the characteristic design features of X-Code. The X-Code product family offers not only a wide range of functions but also numerous possibilities for individual configuration, with a choice of upholstery or a mesh fabric, trendy or timeless colours and a white or black backrest shell.
