This primary school is more than a century old, with a diverse student population, and is renowned for its academic excellence and achievement. Housing 1200 students, the school is divided across two campuses. The school consistently ranked first or second as the best primary Public School in their state for a number of years.
This school’s strong reputation and combined with significant housing developments within the school catchment area caused a massive surge in their enrollment number. To accommodate this change, the school was in great need of new buildings and facilities to accommodate their growing population. A new three-storey building incorporating 21 future-focused teaching spaces and a library, was planned.
Business Interiors was tasked to provide a versatile range of furniture to suit the schools new spaces for special programs, a library, shared learning spaces, and withdrawal rooms, along with homebase rooms. The project also included providing technology solutions, such as interactive whiteboards installed in each classroom.
The furniture was used to create comfortable spaces in which to learn, allowing for cross ventilation and natural light. The furniture utilised supports the School’s goal of creating a welcoming learning environment, with a combination of movable ottomans and lounging furniture, breakout spaces to accommodate small or large groups of students.
The result has provided facilities for a new standard of education at the school. The creation of contemporary learning environments facilitating a more agile method of teaching, using furniture and technology to accommodate varying styles of classes and enhancing education.
The fit out was completed on schedule, and was ready to be occupied for the start of the new school year. The states investment in new fit-for-purpose facilities for students will reap rewards far into the future.
