Slater & Gordon is a leading Australian consumer law firm, employing 1,200 people in 70 locations. The firm’s Coffs Harbour branch secured new premises in 2013, requiring a full-scale fit-out complete with quality commercial furniture.
An existing business relationship with our parent company, Staples, saw Slater & Gordon’s head office approach our team to deliver this commercial fit-out opportunity. The firm had engaged Staples in the past on some smaller scale fit-out projects and regularly made transactional furniture purchases.
It was important to Slater & Gordon that as a national company it portray a consistent image countrywide, to maintain and strengthen it’s brand. Our team were able to demonstrate expertise in this area, as well as a capability to provide high-quality items, with a robust warranty that are cost-effective.
Our furniture specialists worked closely with Slater and Gordon’s Property Team to source and supply furniture that matched recommendations from the architect’s concept brief. Items including desking, storage, and seating, were required to fit out a main office area, meeting rooms, breakout room, and a front-of-house visitor area.
Many of the furniture pieces were manufactured in custom colours and sizes, in order to meet the client’s expectations. A palette of arctic white and bright, bold accents created an office area that’s fresh and modern, while more muted tones in the client-facing areas ensure a strong sense of the Slater & Gordon brand for visitors.
The team took challenges and last-minute changes in their stride, proving flexible with delivery and installation to meet the needs of Slater & Gordon. When the fit-out was put on hold due to construction delays, we were able to arrange storage in our warehouse for items that had already arrived from suppliers. To accommodate the tradespeople onsite, the team managed to coordinate installation and placement of all furniture in a very tight timeframe ensuring the keys were handed over on time.
The firm was particularly pleased with the workstations, which offered all the functionality of height-adjustability, but easy to use and well-priced. The Athena Chairs, providing a bold splash of blue in reception, were also well received and are sure to be equally admired by visitors.
