Big Chill

COMPANY

Big Chill Distribution is a freight company that specialises in express delivery of chilled and frozen product throughout New Zealand. Their aim is to provide a professional image and a reliable service for their customers. With a fleet of 150 refrigerated trucks, Big Chill has experienced a rapid period of growth, leading to the need for a purpose built head office.

The new facility would incorporate both office space for their approximately 50 office staff, and a distribution facility in Highbrook.

THE JOURNEY

Jeffrey Llewellyn, Big Chill’s Finance Manager had engaged with Goodman for construction of the facility. They were looking for a supplier to complete the fitout of the interior, after consultation Business Interiors was engaged.

THE SOLUTION

With desire to incorporate their corporate blue colour into the space, the client’s functional requirement were for a traditional office space including workstations, management offices, meeting rooms, and a staff break out area.

Furniture selected included Moment meeting tables, X-Code task chairs, and bar leaners in the break out area.

The project was well planned and executed, running on schedule to deliver to Big Chill.

THE RESULT

The result was an award winning building. The Big Chill Supersite complex won the 2017 Property Council Excellence Award for Industrial Property. Big Chill’s staff are delighted with their workspace.

Plans to extend to level two are underway and in discussions with Business Interiors now, for an early 2018 fitout.
