THE SCHOOL

THE SCHOOL

This public school built a new three-storey building to replace a restrictive site that was comprised of 19 demountables. With one of the largest student populations in the state, the school offers a caring, happy and safe educational environment for all children. Their dedicated teachers provide diverse academic, sporting, creative and social experiences to encourage all students to reach their full potential.

THE JOURNEY

THE JOURNEY

Several years ago, the school’s state embarked on a journey to fully engage with current pedagogy. This meant a shift in learning environments from teacher-focused learning to collaborative teaching and project-based learning. Coupled with an increased reliance on technology, this resulted in a strong push for innovation in school design. Students and teachers no longer wanted to be restricted to a front-to-blackboard environment. They wanted to be free to work in locations that were best-suited to the task at hand.

The school looked to the Business Interiors team to provide an intelligent and dynamic interior that complemented new pedagogical approaches. The solution also needed to include AV technology that would enhance lesson delivery via the use of multi-user interaction.
It was critical that the school be functional for the start of the 2017 school year, so the Business Interiors team needed to ensure that all furniture and technology products and equipment were delivered on time.

THE SOLUTION

THE SOLUTION

The Business Interiors team provided high-quality furniture and technology solutions transformed the class room design as well as create reading nooks, common areas, activity areas, reflection spaces, arts and craft sections, storage spaces, project rooms, teachers’ meeting areas and external balconies.

Business Interiors provided the school with a clear project program that included a schedule, budget, quality management plan, site visits and walk-throughs, and seamless delivery and installation.

THE RESULT

THE RESULT

Upon returning to school, teachers excitedly explored and interacted with their new furniture and furnishings.  As a provider of intelligent furniture solutions, our Business Interiors team helped transform the school into a place that not only fostered innovative learning and collaboration, but also created meaningful experiences. By incorporating AV technology, the solution also provided multi-user interaction for small breakout groups to encourage sharing and collaborative learning.

Known as ‘Classroom of The Future’ design, the equipment was specifically selected to complement the furnishings and bring 21st century learning spaces to life. The school’s environment now reflects the commitment and aspirations of its forward-thinking community.
